  SHANGHAI ACTIVITIES
Shanghai has many attractions in the downtown area, including Huangpu River, the Bund, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Jinmao Tower, Shanghai Museum, Yuyuan Garden, Xin Tian Di and the special old streets and lanes. Besides, there are places well worth a visit in the suburbs such as Qibao Ancient Town, Zhujajiao Water Town and Chongming Island for in addition to its modern facets, the city has a wealth of more ancient Chinese traditions.
  The Bund
The Bund, also called the Zhongshan Dong Yi Lu (East Zhongshan 1st Road), is a famous waterfront and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years. It starts from the Baidu Bridge, which is at the connecting point of the Huangpu River and the Suzhou Creek, to the East Jinling Road and winds a 1500 meters (less than one mile) in length. Walking along the Bund, which is at the west shore of the Huangpu River,
the Oriental Pearl TV Tower can be seen on the opposite side and also the Jin Mao Tower. Being one of the Top Ten Shanghai Attractions, the Bund is a really beautiful and special place which is worth visiting.
  Oriental Pearl TV Tower
Opposite the Bund sits the Oriental Pearl Tower, a 468 metres (1,535 feet) tower that is the world’s third tallest tower and certainly one of today’s most recognizable structures. The tower features five spheres, three observatory levels, a revolving restaurant, exhibition facilities and a shopping mall. Three enormous towers, that start underground, support the structure that attracts more than 3 million visitors a year.
  Shanghai Museum
Located in the center of Shanghai in People's Square, Shanghai Museum is a large museum of ancient Chinese art. The museum style and presentation surround visitors with artifacts demonstrating ancient wisdom and philosophy. The exterior design of the round dome and the square base symbolizes the ancient idea of a round heaven and a square land.
  Yu Garden
Existing exited for over 400 years, Yu Garden is a truly majestic site of nature that should be a part of any visit to Shanghai. During its long history the garden has been damaged several times, especially during the Opium War, but it has been subsequently restored each time.
The garden today occupies 20,000 square meters of space which might be considered a relatively small space, but this does not convey the impressive amount of attractions that are housed within.
Visitors will find pavilions, rockeries, cloisters and halls. Halls are the most dominant item to be found here. Some of the halls that can be found here include Sansui Hall, Dianchun Hall and Yuhua.
